Composite Facts - Design, Manufacturing & Repair is not a fancy book. It is photocopied pages and comb bound. But it does contain a wealth of easy to understand and practical information on working with basic epoxy resins and glass cloths. This material can be considered as essential for the aircraft homebuilder and will form a good foundation for those seeking to work with some of the more advanced composite materials and techniques

From the Author:

Composite facts was written to answer many of the questions I was asked by people learning to work with composites. It is a summary of my experience gained building composite airplanes. It contains some theory for a few basic calculations, but most applies to the practical side, focusing on the materials and procedures that a homebuilder is likely to use without expensive tooling. The assembly of molded airplanes as well as moldless construction is described.

This book has much information on system integration like antenna installation, grounding practices, and sealing of fuel tanks. It gives information on how to select materials by describing advantages and disadvantages. It also provides helpful hints to those who are maintaining and repairing composite aircraft, how to finish a composite aircraft and how to prepare surfaces for painting without pinholes.
